I am overjoyed as this week my baby girl nadia graduated from talent Unlimited High school.

She is an amazing intelligent young lady …… who is talented beyond my wildest dreams , has the voice of an angel and has made me so proud…

she will be continuing her college education at spelman college in the fall as a freshman. Where she will continue to be amazing, hardworking, dedicated woman she has become.
They have been my reason to live

Now I prepare myself, as my baby girl is preparing to go off to spelman college in Georgia

Hair Emergency!!!!!

Picture curtesy of face book

I felt so sorry for this lady on the train tonight. Her hair was minimal to say the least. She was mostly bald. But yet her hair dresser found a way to glue in red weave for a bang and attach a burgundy ponytail tail to her head. Stressing the few strands that was left on her head. It brought tears to my eyes, wondering if she would ever stop. She seems to have a stressful life, may be that played a part in her hair loss.

Maybe she had lupus, it does not resemble hair loss related to cancer.

Anyway regardless of the cause of her hair loss, it was apparent to me that given her choice of hair style, healthy hair is no where in her near future

It brought tears to my eyes when I looked at her head

I mentally chastised myself, to ensure I didn’t take a picture. While honestly wishing I had th ability to take instant photos of what I was looking at if I choose to.

I silently wished her well as she left the train

While I reaffirmed that I will never put a perm in my hair again.

Amazing natural shampoo!!!!

So a few weeks ago I took out my braids and was about to wash my hair, but when I I was all set to start washing ,I realized I had no shampoo.
now it was 9 o’clock at night , I had had a rough day and really mentally decided I was not going to leave my house again.

So I decided to research online how to wash my hair without shampoo.

I ran into this home made idea I I decided to use it as the ingredients were in every household and readily available .
I must admit I was a little skeptical but I tried it anyway
Recipe

3 tablespoons of baking soda diluted in 2 cups of lukewarm water
And that was used as the shampoo

I washed my hair with the shampoo,it didn’t lather but was still pretty good.
Next I decided why not go all out and use the homemade conditioner solution recommended when I researched how to wash hair without conditioner….lol
Recipe

3 table spoons of apple cider vinegar to 2 cups of water
I applied the conditioner and rinsed with water until solution was completely removed

And ladies let me tell you …..

I will no longer be purchasing shampoo and conditioner, my hair was as soft as butter. The comb just ran smoothly through my hair without the normal accompanying pain.

And ladies you know how knotted and painful this experience can be( especially us of African decent)
Then I got mad…..,

Why did they ,(the powers that be, who’s had us buying shampoo and conditioner, spending our hard earned money) not tell me this from the get go

And had me purchasing expensive shampoo and conditioner all this time😑😑😑😑😑
Since then I have replicated procedure with the same results achieved. I’m so happy so here I am sharing this with you… πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„
Feel free to try it

All different hair types and tell me about your results…
I can’t wait to hear from you
